Post WTO era witnessed the emergence of a new career choice in legal sciences sector, that is, Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Rights. During the last decade, Intellectual Property Law has become a most sought after career among the global student community.
In fact there are very few academic institutions in the world that provide high quality courses in the areas of Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Rights. Australian Universities namely University of Queensland; Queensland University of Technology; Monash University and University of Melbourne are having a good reputation as far as high quality courses in Intellectual Property Law are concerned.
These universities offer some excellent courses in Intellectual Property Law viz., Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law; Graduate Diploma in Applied Law in Intellectual Property Law; Master of Intellectual Property Law; Master of Applied Law in Intellectual Property Law ; Master of Applied Law in International Trade and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law.
Master of Intellectual Property Law offered by the Queensland University of Technology is a full time one year long academic programme. Educational cost for overseas students is about AUS $10,000 per semester.
University of Queensland conducts Graduate Diploma in Applied Law in Intellectual Property Law; Master of Applied Law in Intellectual Property Law ; Master of Applied Law in International Trade and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law. Tuition fee per semester is approximately AUS $12,000 for international students.
Master of Intellectual Property Law and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property are available at the Monash University also. Cost of the education is AUS $28,220 a year for overseas students.
University of Melbourne conducts a diploma course, Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and a master level programme, Master of Intellectual Property Law. Educational cost is about AUS $29,600 a year.
