Study Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology in UK

Bangor-UniversityProfessional study programmes in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology are available in many UK universities and colleges. UK universities such as Bangor University, Staffordshire University, Teesside University and University of Bradford conduct a variety of study programmes in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology.

Bangor University offers mainly post graduate programmes such as M.Sc in Applied Sport Science,  Applied Sport Science PG Diploma, Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology MSc, Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology PG Diploma, M.Sc in Sport Science with Outdoor Activities , M.Sc in Sport and Exercise Psychology , M.Phil in Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences and Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences PhD programme.  A bachelor level programme titled Sport and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) is available at the Staffordshire University. Teesside University is known for a First Degree course titled Sport and Exercise (Coaching Science) BSc (Hons).

In addition to these universities, some of the colleges also provide education in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology. Wigan and Leigh College, UK offers Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ certificate courses known as Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise Advanced  Certificate Programme for international applicants.

Chesterfield College, UK conducts Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise – Group Exercise NVQ Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 certificate programmes while Gateshead College, UK offers a Sport Foundation Degree for interested candidates.

NVQ Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 certificate programmes are short term programmes of three months duration which normally starts in the month of September while completion of a Foundation Degree may take one year to three years. Bachelor level programmes can be completed within three to four years while a Master degree may take one to two years. Duration of doctoral level courses is about three to four years.
