Postgraduate Management Courses offered by University of Malaya

The University of Malaya is one of the oldest public Universities of Malaysia having its campus in southwest Kuala Lumpur. It has been a pioneer in higher education and learning with its faculty, research facilities and academic innovations. The University offers two Management courses at the postgraduate level.

A) The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree provides valuable theoretical and practical lessons to individuals who are aiming to work in Multinational Corporations in top Management positions or willing to become successful entrepreneurs in future. This course helps to understand the modern day management practices as prevalent throughout the world.

Course Structure:

The main subjects covered in this programme are Business Ethics and Corporate Governance, Research Methods in Business, Operations Management, Corporate Finance, Human Capital Management, Strategic Management, Economics for Managers, Accounting for Business Decision Making, Marketing Management and Management Information Systems.

Entry Requirements:

A candidate must possess (1) a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, or a professional qualification from any recognized institute.  (2) Minimum of 2 years of work experience after completing graduation. Fluency in English Language is required. Foreign candidates are required to have IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550, if their degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction, or alternatively a pass in English proficiency test as approved by the University of Malaya.

B) The Master in Management Degree is a one year degree programme which is provided to candidates who are members of client organizations, as well as professionals from other organizations like teachers, business executives and officers in various government departments to enhance their skills in management practices.

Course Structure:

The course consists of subjects like Management Theory and Practices, Statistics and Business Research, Strategic planning for managers, Research Project, Organizational Behavior, Financial Decision Making, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Managerial Ethics and Corporate Governance.
