Performance Arts Courses in Singapore

Major Singapore educational institutions which are internationally recognized as centres of excellence for performing arts courses are the National University of Singapore; Nanyang Technological University and Cavalry School of Management and Design Pte Ltd. These universities conduct degree, post graduate and doctoral level courses as well as post graduate diploma and certificate courses via their schools of performance arts. Major areas of studies include music studies, music performance, theatre production and theatre studies, drama and performance, and stage arts management.

The National University of Singapore offers degree, masters, and doctoral programmes as well as post graduate diploma programs in theatre studies and music performance. University currently offers three courses in performing arts, such as Graduate Diploma in Music Performance, MA in Theatre Studies and PhD in Theatre Studies, for international students. Graduate Diploma in Music Performance is a full time diploma level course with course duration of one year to three years. MA in Theatre Studies by Research is a Masters level programme which normally starts in August. PhD in Theatre Studies is a Doctoral level programme.

Nanyang Technological University conducts its courses in performance arts at the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.  Two major courses offered by the university are Ph.D. in Drama and Performance and Ph.D. in Music. Ph.D. in Drama and Performance is a full time Doctoral level programme with course duration over three years. Ph.D. in Music is also a doctoral level programme.

Cavalry School of Management and Design Pte Ltd is a private educational institution sponsored by the Cavalry Group of Companies. The school is famous for its courses in Music Studies, Performing Stage and Screen Arts. Master of Arts in Stage Arts Management is a Masters level full time course. Masters in Music is also a post graduate level full time programme. Course duration varies from one year to three years.
