Legal Studies in Canadian Universities

University-of-British-ColumMany Canadian universities are well known for highly specialized courses in legal studies such as Intellectual Property Law programmes, Air and Space Law programmes and various dual degree programmes.

Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Laws (LLM) and PhD in Law are offered at the University of Ottawa, University of Victoria, the University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, University of Calgary and the University of Manitoba. A combined programme, Bachelor of laws/Master of business administration is available at the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Victoria and the University of Ottawa.

The University of Western Ontario is popular for dual degree programmes such as BSc in Computer Science /LLB, BA in history/LLB, BA in Kinesiology (Honors Specialization)/LLB, BA in media, information and technoculture/LLB, BA in Political Science (Honors Specialization)/ LLB and Bachelor of laws in common law/Bachelor of laws in civil law. Dalhousie University also offers dual degree programmes viz. Bachelor of Laws/Master of Health Services Administration, Bachelor of Laws/Master of Library Information Studies and Bachelor of Laws/Master of Public Administration.

Air and Space Law programmes are available at the McGill University and major courses offered at the university are Doctor of Civil Law in Air and Space Law, Graduate certificate in air and space law, and Air and Space Law LL.M. (Thesis or Non-Thesis).

Intellectual Property Law program is offered at the University of Windsor and BA in Law and Society, BSc in Law & Society and Certificate in law and society are conducted at the University of New Brunswick, University of Calgary and Wilfrid Laurier University. A combined degree programme, MA/LL.B. in international affairs is available for overseas students at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University.
