French Language Studies in Canada

French is one of the spoken languages in Canada, particularly in the province of Quebec. A wide variety of French language courses are available for overseas applicants in almost all Canadian universities and colleges.
Degrees such as BA in French studies, MA in French studies and PhD in French Studies are awarded by Trent University, Queen’s University, University of Windsor, York University, Royal Military College of Canada, University of Guelph, Memorial University of Newfoundland and University of Winnipeg.
BA in French, MA in French and PhD in French are available in many Canadian universities. Most prominent among them are Athabasca University, University of Calgary, Concordia University, University of Lethbridge, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria, Brandon University, University of Manitoba, Canadian Mennonite University, Mount Allison University, University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University, Acadia University, Dalhousie University, Mount Saint Vincent University, St. Francis Xavier University, Saint Mary’s University, Algoma University, Brescia University College, Brock University, Carleton University, Lakehead University, Laurentian University of Sudbury, McMaster University, University of Ottawa, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina and University of Waterloo.
BA French Language, Literatures & Linguistics, MA French Language, Literatures & Linguistics, PhD in French Language, Literatures & Linguistics are conducted at the University of Alberta and the Huron University College while the University of Toronto is preferred by overseas applicants for courses such as BA in French Language and Literature, BA in French Language and French Linguistics, BA in French and Italian, PhD in French Language and Literature and MA in French Language and Literature.
The University of Western Ontario is also offering bachelor level programmes in French language such as BA in French Language and Literature and BA in French Linguistics and Literature. Another popular name in the field of French education is Bishop’s University, which conducts a bachelor level programme, BA in French Language Studies.
