All leading universities impart courses in commerce such as B.Com or M.Com and after completing these courses, students can enroll themselves for professional courses under the streams like CFA, CS, CA, CWA, and MBA in Finance to pursue a suitable career such as a Chartered Accountant; Cost and Work Account; Company Secretary; Insurance Manager, Investment Banker, Professional Accountant, Commercial Lawyer, Commerce Teacher, Commerce Professor, Chartered Financial Analyst and Stock Broker.

Cost and Work Accountancy (CWA): Candidates, who wish to do a course in CWA, can join with the authorized professional body of cost and work accountants for professional guidance.

MBA in Finance: This is normally a two year duration course and best suited for the candidates who wish to have a career as an investment banker or a corporate financier.

Company Secretaryship (CS): Candidates, who wish to do a course in CS can join institute of company secretaries to pursue a career as company secretaries in corporate firms.

Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA): CFA is a three year full time post graduation degree and candidates with CFA qualifications can have a professional membership with the authorized professional body of chartered financial analysts. Chartered Accountancy (CA): Candidates, who wish to do a course in CA, are required to have a professional membership with the authorized professional body of chartered accountants. Job profile of a CA includes auditing and income tax assessment of corporate firms.

Candidates who aspire to become commercial lawyers can pursue a qualification in commercial law and who aspire to be  insurance managers can join for a course in insurance management. Candidates with M.Com and B.Ed can pursue an academic career as a commerce teacher.
