Biomedical Sciences and Bioengineering Programmes in Singapore

Several advanced programmes in Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences are available in many Singapore academic institutions for interested overseas applicants.

Foundation Certificate in Biomedical Sciences, awarded by Management Development Institute of Singapore, is a full time short term certificate course and many overseas students are coming to Singapore for doing this course. Study duration varies from three months to one year and course intake is twice a year, March and August.

Raffles Education Corp College offers Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Science, a full time advanced diploma for career aspirants. Tuition fee is about $24000 for international students. Course intake is four times a year, January, April, July and October

National University of Singapore is renowned for bachelor level professional courses such as B. Eng in Bio Engineering and B.Sc. Honours Degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical Sciences). These are full time Bachelors Degrees with course duration of over three years.

Two dual degrees, B.A. in Economics and B. Eng in Bioengineering as well as B.Sc.(Honours) in Biomedical Sciences and Bachelor of Medicine (Chinese Medicine) are offered at Nanyang Technological University. Besides, Bachelor of Engineering in Bioengineering and Ph.D. in Bioengineering courses are also available.

Two diploma courses, Diploma in Biomedical Laboratory Technology (BLT) and Diploma in Biomedical Science are conducted at Ngee Ann Polytechnic while Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Post Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Sciences and  Diploma in Biomedical Sciences – Medical Imaging are available at Republic Polytechnic

Temasek Polytechnic is popular for courses such as Diploma in Biomedical Informatics and Engineering and Diploma in Biomedical Science. Singapore Polytechnic offers Diploma courses in Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences such as Diploma in Bioengineering, Diploma in Biomedical Science – Cardiac Technology and Diploma in Biomedical Science – Medical Technology. Tuition fee for international students is approximately $3300 and duration varies from one year to three years. Course starts in April.
